As we approach the deadline for our Summer Semester applications, the Greenpeace Semester is excited to announce our first ever Tumblr-athon contest.
It’s pretty simple.  The GPSemester Tumblr follower who drives the most applications to the Greenpeace Semester this week wins one of the brand new Greenpeace t-shirts celebrating the launch of our new flagship the Rainbow Warrior III (seen above).  These shirts are pretty sweet - super soft, made from recycled materials by playback clothing.Even more importantly, they’ll be supporting student activism and helping to build the environmental movement by putting us in touch with student leaders who want to make a difference for our planet.  For more information about the program, check out our site here. How will we know who heard about the program from you?  Students can put your Tumblr account name into the “How I heard about this program” section of our application.  We’ll tally the results and mail the winner awesome new Greenpeace schwag and +5 karma points.
What you do:  Close your eyes and think of the students you know.  Do they care about the environment?  Would they want to work on campaigns to save our world’s last ancient forests and stop global warming?  What are their names?  Send them a message about the Greenpeace Semester and encourage them to apply!  And if you are yourself a student who believes in the power of non-violence and grassroots organizing to affect change you should apply now too!
